Install on the main control panel server?

Installing cPFence on the main control panel server protects the server that manages your Enhance cluster. It is also required for the central WebUI and ApiMachine tools. The WebUI runs on this server; secondary servers connect to it automatically after v4 installation.

WebUI server role

Enable the WebUI only on the Enhance main control panel server. It does not run on secondary servers.

Per-website billing

Installing and keeping cPFence running on the main control panel server is required for per-website billing.

Choose your setup

• Central dashboard or website bulk tools: install and activate cPFence on the main control panel server, then enable the WebUI.
• Per-website billing: keep cPFence installed and running on the main control panel server. Follow per-website activation.
• Per-server licensing without central tools: cPFence can protect individual secondary servers. Installing it on the main control panel server is still recommended.

For v3 clusters, upgrade the main control panel server first, then the secondary servers.
