Does Owl require removing swap?

No. Owl AutoMySQL does not require swap to be removed. Query controls do not replace sufficient memory or appropriate account limits.

Keep a recovery margin for low memory

Disabling swap on a memory-constrained server can cause allocation failures or crashes. Keep swap available when the workload needs it and resolve sustained memory pressure first.

Read actual RAM, swap use and application demand before changing host policy. The earlier recommendation of a swappiness value of 10 was conditional on the workload; choose this with the server administrator rather than applying it to every host.

Use Owl query controls and suitable Enhance account limits to address abusive work. A swap change alone does not establish improved performance.
