Understand OpenLiteSpeed rewrite notices

OpenLiteSpeed can log Invalid rewrite directive for Apache-style .htaccess directives such as <Files> or Deny from all.

1. Read the log’s severity and the file path it names.
2. Check whether the affected page still works and whether the intended access restriction is enforced.
3. Review WordPress protection and current WAF events for that site.
4. If access is wrong or the error accompanies a failure, preserve the directive, URL, time and engine version for support.

An ignored directive is not proof of protection

OpenLiteSpeed does not implement every Apache .htaccess feature. A routine notice alone need not indicate an outage, but an ignored access rule does not enforce its restriction. Do not infer correct protection solely from normal page loading.

Keep cPFence v4+ managed settings intact. Do not delete all site access rules to silence informational notices.
